The Davis cousins

The Davis cousins are having fun in RahRah's back yard

Taylor, Tate and Carson sporting their capes made by RahRah, a davis kid tradition!

Backyard summer fun

My sweet boys!

I was trying out a new setting on my camera that gave this picture of Carson a cool fluorescent green color. Carson loves the water and will hop in even before he gets on his swim shorts. So, on this morning he did some skinny dipping.

The boys have already had hours of fun in this pool and I only bought it last week! Tate loves it too, but decided to be shy by the time I got out the camera. I bought this pool for the boys a Wallmart for only $10.00.....the best 10 bucks I've spent in a long time!

Kings Canyon, May 2009

Carson happily agreed to pose for a photo on the beautiful root base of a fallen down sequoia tree.

From our campground, we made the short drive to see General Sherman tree and found ourselves driving in the shadows of 200ft tall trees on either side of the road. We parked in the designated parking area and walked a very easy hike to the famed tree. Along the walk, we stopped to play inside the hollow of this old sequoia. The kids thought it was so cool to run inside of an actual tree!

General Sherman tree is the "worlds largest tree"!

Carson often decides that he would much rather be carried then do the walking himself. I generally don't mind helping him along, but now that I'm 4months pregnant, the extra weight of carrying Carson and this new baby requires us to take lots of resting breaks.

We had our camping site at the Sunset campground in Kings Canyon. We set up camp and started in on roasting some marshmallows. Tate and Carson loved the smores and loved the novelty of holding the marshmallows on skewers over the fire. Eric showed Tate how to roast the marshmallows and apparently showed him how to make matching facial expressions.

I loved having the boys sit by the fire with me, but soon enough they wiggled away again to explore new things around the campsite.

We drove about 30 minutes into Sequoia National Park where we did some laundry at the visitors center. We had our picnic lunch while we waited for our clothes to be washed and the kids picked out a treat at the gift shop. Tate picked out a black bear snow globe and Carson a black bear figurine. Fortunately those were the only bears that we saw on the trip.

Tate was so pleased to be camping AND wearing his Broncos sweatshirt......like father, like son.

After another picnic lunch we went to Crescent Meadows which were so beautiful and soooo green. It was hard to keep the kids on the designated trail because running through the green grass looked like so much more fun.

Carson was inspired to pretend like he was a bear!

4th of July

Eric and the boys enjoy fireworks in our front yard!

Carson loves the 4th festivities before the fireworks begin.

Tate was so excited to watch the Sun City fireworks show on July 3rd at RahRah's house with his cousins.

Tate and his cousin Taylor seemed to be having a contest as to who could be the most enthusiastic about the fireworks show.
