Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter Day!

Happy Easter Day!

Mom came over on the day before Easter Sunday to do our traditional Easter projects.  They colored easter eggs and made their

Webber is SO sweet!

We did an Easter egg hunt at our house in the morning on Easter Sunday!  The Easter bunny did not disappoint and he brought the kids candy filled eggs and fun Easter baskets!
Once the clouds moved on outside, it made for a much prettier day for a second egg hunt.  Like last year, we again went to Johnson Springview Park near our house for the Rocklin Fire Department Easter egg hunt.  This year those busy firemen boiled and colored 500 dozen eggs for all of the kids to find.

Tate planned his strategy and his speed paid off!  He beat all the other kids to the clearing and for a few extra seconds, he had the entire field of eggs all to himself.  He did so well with the egg hunt, that I asked him to put a few eggs back into the grass so that he didn't have an unfair amount compared to all of the other less speedy kids!  He was a good sport and in the end had lots of pretty eggs.

Tate and Carson were lucky enough to find some prize winning eggs which they were able to turn in for one dollar per egg!

Sunny California

I'm so glad that we live in sunny California!  During their week off for spring break, the kids got a chance to make the most of the warm weather.  We went swimming for the first time this year in March....... yes March!!!!!

Shamrocks Rock

Once again I ran the Shamrockn' half marathon this year.  This race was an especially big challenge for me because I felt a bit under prepared.   I had only been running 1 or sometimes 2 times per week in the months prior.  Luckily I ran it with my friend Amy so we were able to keep each other motivated for the entire 13.1 miles.   This race began in downtown Sacramento.  It travels past great landmarks like the State Capital, The Tower Bridge, historic Old Sacramento, and ends at Railey Baseball Field.

I was lucky enough to work in Carson's classroom on the Friday morning before St. Patrick's weekend.  We had fun turning the kids into Irishmen by creating their Irish name....Carson O'Davis.  We also created many  pots of gold, rainbows and leprechaun artwork.

Tate was busy preparing for St. Patrick's day in his classroom by working on this leprechaun story.  A bit of translation may be needed! :)
"One day I found a pot of gold.  Then I met the leprechaun.  Then I grabbed the gold.  I ran to the store and bought a gold bracelet then says Tate.  Next I went home.  Then I watched TV.  The leprechaun said, "where is my pot of gold?"  The end."

Sweet Rewards

Potty training is such a parenting delight, right??? No!
It is such a work in progress, but so rewarding to no longer have the expense of diapers!
We have been working with Holly now for a few months, but she finally has it down, Yay!  However, she still seems to think that she should get a candy reward after each bathroom visit.  I'm trying to get away from this reward process, so sometimes I'm not too quick to get this candy for her.  This afternoon, she decided that she would get her own  candy from on top of the refrigerator.  I caught her with her hand in the candy jar and her pink undies down around her ankles.  Someday, this photo will soooo embarrass her!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from the Davis kids!!

Snow Day- January 26th, 2012

Eric had some work to do in Truckee, so the kids and I decided to make the most of the beautiful weather and tag along with him.  So, we loaded up our snow gear, sleds,  & some snacks, and headed up the hill to Truckee.  Even though the sun was out, the temperature was still only about 40 degrees.   Carson is the daredevil of our family and he loved the sledding afternoon the most.  He saw some other kids sledding down the hills head first, so he eventually decided to try it for himself.  We had a great afternoon together and we would love to go again this year before spring really hits.

Viva Las Vegas

This year I was asked by my dental office to be the hygiene representative at our annual dental conference in Las Vegas.  Of course I didn't say no to an all expense paid 3 day weekend!!!  Since Eric was busy with the kids while I was out of town, my friend Rebecca came with me to keep me company.  In between conference classes, we were able to fit in some fun too!  We did some sight seeing, had an awesome dinner at Tao restraunt, and went zip lining over an 800ft line along the Freemont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas!
